Summer 2008 Housing Information

Greetings from Campus Housing!
We are pleased that you will attend UNLV for Summer Session 2008 and that you are considering living on campus. The summer housing application has gone online! The summer application and additional information may be viewed at http://housing.unlv.edu. If you have questions or need the information clarified after thoroughly reading this information, please call the UNLV Campus Housing Office at (702) 895-3489. We will be happy to assist you.

Resident Eligibility
On-campus housing and food service are offered for the three summer sessions. Preference is given to students enrolled for summer school. In order to be eligible for campus housing during the summer, at least one of the following must apply:

  1. You will be enrolled for at least one summer session;
  2. If you are a continuing resident from Spring semester 2008 and have a Residence and Dining Hall Contract for Fall semester 2008, you do not need to attend summer session classes in order to live in the residence halls;

Residence and Dining Hall Fee and Payment Information
Please keep in mind:

  1. The summer rates have not been increased
  2. You may contract for any combination of sessions
  3. Summer housing space is limited
  4. Residence Hall Check-in is scheduled for the day before classes begin
  5. Summer term does not send bills
  6. Campus Housing will post your housing charges to your UNLV account

Terms & Conditions
A very important document included in the application is the Terms and Conditions of the Residence and Dining Hall Contract. The Terms and Conditions are the explanation of your rights and your responsibilities as well as the university's rights and responsibilities. Read the Terms and Conditions carefully and be sure you fully understand them. The Residence and Dining Hall Contract is a legally binding agreement between you and the university for the session(s) you have contracted for. All terms and conditions apply to summer residents.

Summer Arrival Procedures
Summer Housing is in B Hall. Upon your arrival to campus, you will go to the Upper Class Complex lobby (Warner Building) to check-in and receive your room and mailbox keys. Summer Session check-in hours are:

  Summer Session 1
Sunday, May 18, 2008
1:00 - 5:00pm
 
Summer Session 2
Sunday, June 8, 2008
1:00 - 5:00pm

Room Assignment and Single Rooms
*While the Online Housing Application will ask for your living preferences, please know that summer assignments are limited to B Hall.

Room Assignments will be made prior to your arrival for check-in and will be sent to you via your RebelMail account. Due to space restrictions, single rooms are not available to students living on campus during Summer Session.

Meal Plans
Summer residents must choose from a 10, 14 or 19 meal plan. Selecting the right meal plan requires careful consideration of your dietary and nutritional needs, the frequency with which you will have conflicts with dining commons service hours due to classes, jobs or being away from campus, and other life-style issues such as how frequently you might want to eat elsewhere.

*Dining Dollars are not offered during summer terms. Due to the short duration of each summer session, Campus Housing does not process meal plan changes in the summer.
