Summer 2009 Housing Information
Greetings from Campus Housing!
We are pleased that you will attend UNLV for Summer Session 2009 and that you are considering living on
campus. If you have questions or need the information clarified after thoroughly reading this information packet,
please call the UNLV Campus Housing Office at (702) 895-3489. We are happy to assist you.
Resident Eligibility
- On-campus housing and dining service are offered for three summer sessions. Preference is given to students
enrolled for summer school. In order to be eligible for campus housing during the summer, at least one of the
following must apply: You will be enrolled for at least one summer session;
b. You are a continuing resident from spring semester 2009 and have a Residence and Dining Hall
Contract for fall semester 2009; in this situation you do not need to attend summer session classes in
order to live in the residence halls
- You may contract for any combination of summer sessions.
- Summer housing space is limited in Dayton South.
- The summer housing application is online at housing.unlv.edu.
- The $125 application fee is nonrefundable.
- Summer term 3 housing ends August 8, 2009 and the fall 2009 term begins August 24, 2009. Students are not
under contract for the time in between August 8 and August 24. Students may opt to stay during this
intersession for an additional fee.
- Residence Hall Check-in is scheduled for the day before classes begin.
Residence and Dining Hall Fee and Payment Information
- The summer term charges are broken down in the chart below.
- Summer term does not send bills.
- Campus Housing will post your housing charges to your UNLV account.
- Returning students (spring 2009 to summer 2009) can “lock in” their old summer rate and get a discount.

Meal Plans
Summer residents must choose from a 10, 14 or 19 meal plan. Selecting the right meal plan requires careful consideration of your dietary and nutritional needs, the frequency with which you will have conflicts with dining commons service hours due to classes, jobs or being away from campus, and other life-style issues such as how frequently you might want to eat elsewhere. Please be advised that dining dollars are not offered during summer terms. Due to the short duration of each summer session, Campus Housing does not process meal plan changes in the summer.

Terms & Conditions
A very important document included in the application is the Terms and Conditions of the Residence and Dining Hall Contract. The Terms and Conditions are the explanation of your rights and your responsibilities as well as the university's rights and responsibilities. Read the Terms and Conditions carefully and be sure you fully understand them. The Residence and Dining Hall Contract is a legally binding agreement between you and the university for the session(s) you have contracted for. All terms and conditions apply to summer residents.
Room Assignment and Single Rooms
While the Online Housing Application will ask for your living preferences, please know that summer assignments are limited to Dayton South Hall. Room Assignments will be made prior to your arrival for check-in and will be sent to you via your RebelMail account. Due to space restrictions, single rooms are not available to students living on campus during Summer Session.
Summer Arrival Procedures
Summer Housing is in Dayton South Hall. Upon your arrival to campus, you will go to the Dayton Complex lobby
to check-in and receive your room and mailbox keys.
