With your student away from home, it’s important to stay in touch. UNLV encourages students to communicate frequently with their families and share their experiences.
Keep in touch…
By telephone.
Each room has an independent phone line. Students will receive their new phone number when they get their room assignment notification. All local calls are free. A long distance calling card is needed to place long distance calls other than those to toll-free numbers. Students may not accept collect calls to their room. If they do, they will be assessed a $15.00 service charge in addition to any fees, tolls or taxes from the phone company.
By mail.
Students will also receive their mailing address when they get their room assignment notification. If you would like to send mail or packages, mail them to this address. Please do not mail letters or packages to the general UNLV address or to the Campus Housing office. They will not be accepted and will be returned to sender.
Regular mail service will begin on the first day of classes of the semester. Incoming mail is usually delivered Monday through Saturday, and is sorted to students’ individual mailboxes. Registered mail and packages can be picked up during regular office hours with proper identification.
