  Living Environments > Your Complex

Each complex features special living environments with programs tailored to meet the needs of residents.

Diversity Living and Learning Community (DLLC) (South Complex)
The goal of this community is to create a safe environment where diverse dialogues and activism can flourish through a structure that encourages faculty engagement with residents inside the classroom and within the residence halls. Residents of the DLLC will enhance their knowledge of diversity while becoming leaders committed to building positive and inclusive communities that break down the walls of oppression on campus and within the larger society.

Global House (Upper Class Complex)
Students from the U.S. and around the globe live and work together to appreciate and promote diversity through activities like discussions, language workshops, and special cultural events.

Graduate and 25 or Older Living Community (Upper Class Complex)
The Graduate and 25 or Older Living Community is composed of students who are 25 years of age and up or students who are pursuing a Graduate degree here at UNLV. This floor is intended to be a study intensive upper class environment that will help support the needs of a student population that maintains multiple life commitments and varying schedules. This environment will afford you the opportunity to live with a cohort of students who share like interests in the pursuit of academic goals.

Leadership Project House (Tonopah Complex)
Leadership is a process, not a position. Be part of the process by joining the premiere leadership opportunity for first year student living on-campus at UNLV. Students living on The Leadership Project floor community will learn how to make a difference both on and off campus. Participants will experience what it means to be a leader at UNLV by participating in an introductory leadership retreat, interactions with campus and community leaders, exposure to hands-on leadership development skills, and mandatory enrollment in EDU 220, the Introduction to Leadership Experience course in the spring semester (this is a 2-credit course). Please see application for additional requirements.

Special Academic Floors
Special areas for special majors. Live with other students sharing your academic experience. Build relationships with faculty and professionals in your field. Study groups, social events, and other leadership programs help you explore your studies outside the classroom. Programs include:

  • Education House (Tonopah Complex)
  • Engineering House (Tonopah Complex)
  • Honors House (Dayton Complex)
  • Hotel Administration House (Upper Class Complex)

Study-Intensive/Quiet Floor* (All Complexes)
Looking for peace and quiet so you can focus on your studies? Living on these co-ed floors means you agree to keep noise contained in your room at all times. You and your guests must be sure that your noise does not disturb other residents in their rooms.

Substance-Free Floor* (Dayton Complex)
This floor is reserved for students who choose to live a substance-free lifestyle. All members of this community agree to hold each other accountable for not using alcohol, tobacco, and/or other drugs both on and off campus. (Note: To be assigned to a Substance-Free floor, you must request assignment to the floor and indicate no alcohol use on the roommate preference section of the contract.)

Wellness Community (Dayton Complex)
Take a step beyond the Substance-Free floor, where residents focus on optimal physical, intellectual, emotional, spiritual, occupational, and community wellness through trips and programs.

Women in Learning & Leadership Floor (Dayton Complex)
Taking the All-Women concept to a new level, residents will participate in programs that explore women s issues with a focus on personal growth, success and leadership.

*If you can’t fulfill the requirements of these special floors and there is space available you will be reassigned to an appropriate room.
