Resident Assistant (RA)

Resident Assistants are members of the Campus Housing Office and are responsible to that office and supervised by the Residential Life Coordinator of their assigned complex hall. Resident Assistants have responsibilities for the entire residence hall while focusing more specifically upon the responsibilities relating to their floor. Resident Assistants play an integral role in the establishment of an environment conducive to maximum academic, personal, and social development, and to maintaining healthy and safe living conditions. Resident Assistants seek to promote a sense of community within the residence hall fostered by individual responsibility, mutual respect, and the pursuit of mutual interests. The Resident Assistant is not expected to answer every question of every student. However, he or she should be able to refer students to other resources, or find the answer from other valuable resources.
