Employment Opportunities
Office Assistants are student-employees of UNLV Campus Housing.
They support the UNLV Campus Housing Complex and ResNet Offices.
They answer questions, answer the phone, sort mail, and/or maintain
Campus Housing web pages. Office Assistants are also expected to
check voicemail, take messages, and monitor game equipment.
Prerequisites
Upon applying for an OA position, you must:
- Be a currently registered undergraduate or graduate student at
UNLV
- Be a resident in Campus Housing
- pass a background check.
- Have at least a 2.0 GPA
- Have basic computer knowledge
- Be a self-starter and self-motivated
- Have strong interpersonal and customer service skills
- Have the ability to teach others
- Have a desire to learn and succeed.
Hours
Typically, you can expect to work:
Duties
As an OA, you must:
- Work all hours scheduled to work or agree to cover for someone
else.
- Do various tasks such as sort mail and assist students with questions concerning the
residence halls or ResNet network.
- Maintain contact with hall residents in both customer service
and casual situations.
Incentives for Participation
- Compensation in Campus Housing offices currently starts at $6.00 per hour.
- Compensation in the ResNet office currently starts at $8.00 per hour.
